On August 22, 2018 the Firm was advised by the Legal Media Group that it was listed for 2018 in the Expert Guide as a leading firm in shipping law and that five partners, more than from any other firm in the U.S., are listed among the fifty-seven best shipping attorneys in the United States. Those recognized are: Peter Gutowski, Bill Juska, Wayne Meehan, Don Murnane and Gina Venezia. The Guide, Best of the Best USA, has been published since 1994.
The Legal Media Group’s research methodology involves approaching legal practitioners in more than 90 jurisdictions and inviting them to submit the candidates for the leading practitioners (from outside their own firms) for each practice area researched. Reasons for nominations are requested and any additional background is sought as to why an individual should be included in the list. Legal Media Group then validates the submissions, ranks all eligible individuals and selects the candidates who pass a certain nomination threshold. As a final verification, telephone interviews are then conducted with a select group of advisers to discuss this list.
